First Annual North Kazakhstan Debate Cup: On December 28, Madina Rakhimzhanova ’14 together with the Nomad Debate Club organized the First Annual North Kazakhstan Debate Cup at the American Corner. The president of the Nomad Debate Club opened the competition with a presentation on debates and their importance. Next, eight teams of high school students took part in a series of debates. The winning teams received certificates. The event was the first of its kind and a success, with many teachers who were present at the event asking for events of its kind to be organized often.
