1Motivated by his recent SCFAW experience, in November 2015 Abulfaz Hajizada ’13 led a series of career development trainings for local young people in Lankaran, Azerbaijan. The project started with an orientation seminar for 13 students during which the FLEX alumnus talked about resume writing, job interview preparation, and professional ethics. Having shared supplementary material with the students, Abulfaz encouraged them to compile their resumes based on the new knowledge and offered to provide feedback.

Afterwards he organized two project management trainings for local volunteers and the orientation seminar participants in English and Azeri. Both events took place at the Lankaran Community Development Center attracting over 20 attendees in total.

During the trainings the participants discussed their community project ideas and practiced compiling budgets and timetables.

‘The training participants were inspired to organize community projects in their universities and local area. I think these trainings will benefit a lot of people in Lankaran,’ says Abulfaz.
